'Don't be afraid to try, the worse thing that can happen is that things don't turn out the way you envision it to be"

'Don't be afraid to try, the worse thing that can happen is that things don't turn
out the way you envision it to be. But at least you know that by giving it a
shot" - Michael Jordan

Yes this was actually on the cover back 16 years ago. I think the lesson that was passed on is that, if you don't try you never will know the result and you will always have regret in your mind which leads to unhappiness.

I think that if it doesn't work out the first time try and try again. Make sure you learn from your mistakes and try harder. If you easily give up then you are bound to fail, usually they say that once people give up they are almost near the point of success.

It is a really nice day out here. They are fixing my car as we speak and I'm using Sirius radio at work. It is really good. I love it, I guess with every good thing, something bad must happen . . .

I will be more careful with my car now, I have to remember to make it less attractive.

Inspiring undersized NBA Guards

Because I am only 5'6.5 I totally understand what it means to be undersized. I have total respect for all undersized basketball guards that have played in the NBA. These names include those who are enlisted 5'9 and below.

Muggsy Bogues - 5'3 141 lbs
Is the shortest player ever to have played in the NBA. Had overcame huge obstacles to get the NBA. Coming out of a getto neighborhood when he was a child, his father having to go to jail when he was only 12. Nevertheless he led Dunbar High School to undefeated championship seasons along with Reggie Williams, Reggie Lewis and David Wingate who all made the NBA. Was a phenominal Collegiate player while at Wake Forest leading the NCAA in assists and steals. He was drafted in the first round 12th overall by the Washington Bullets. When he got to the NBA odds were stacked against him again as he strugged in his rookie season. But was luckly drafted by Charlotte in the expansion draft and led them to several playoff appearances. Played 14  seasons in the NBA.

Earl Boykins - 5'5 133 lbs
Was an amazing Collegiate player at the University of Eastern Michigan. In his senior season he had averaged 25.7 leading the NCAA Division I 2nd in scoring. Dispite his accomplishments he went undrafted in the 1998 NBA draft as coaches doubted that his height would prove to be a problem in the NBA. Determined to achieve his goals, Earl persisted. Earning several 10 day contracts with various teams and eventually led to the signing of the Golden State Warriors where he became known as a clutch player. After this  he had been signed by the Nuggets where he would break an overtime record of 15 points(now broken by Areans) including several 30+ point nights. Played 10 seasons in the NBA, but can still come back to the NBA and play more.

Spud Webb - 5'6 135 lbs
Was one of the pioneers of undersized guards in the NBA before the emergence of Muggsy Bogues. Shocked the world when a person of his height was able to win the slam dunk contest over his teammate Dominique Wilkins in 1986. Although people only remember him of this, he was also a key member of the Atlanta Hawks playoff runs in the 80s and early 90s. The 4 years where he was traded to Sacramento he had been a starter as well contributing as much as 16 points per game. Played 12 seasons in the NBA.

Greg Grant - 5'7 145 lbs
Came out of a Division III school, Trenton State University where it was virtually impossible to jump straight to the NBA. Greg did just that. In his 3 seasons he had played at Trenton, Greg averaged 30 points per game with a shooting percentage of over 50% leading the league in scoring and taking them to the championship game during his senior season. Luckily Greg's determination was recoginized when he was drafted in the 2nd round by the Suns. Played 7 seasons in the NBA.

Nate Robinson - 5'7 180 lbs
Was first recruited in College for football on Scholarship. Later walked on and joined the Basketball team. A teammate of NBA sensation Brandon Roy at the University of Washington. Is known for winning 2 slam dunk contests. First jumping over former champion Spud Webb and second jumping over contestant Dwight Howard. Currently in his 4th season in the NBA.

Wataru Miska - 5'7
First NBA player of Asian Decent. Played only 3 games before being removed by management for reasons that were never made clear to him. In college he helped guide the University of Utah to the 1944 NCAA and 1947 NIT championships and was inducted into the Utah Sports hall of Fame in 1999.

Calvin Murphy - 5'9
Attended Niagara University where he averaged 33.1 points per game(4th best in NCAA history) A member of the Basketball Hall of Fame. Led the Rockets to the 1981 NBA Finals falling to the Boston Celtics
